Hanford Junior Named Finalist For FIRST Tech Challenge National Dean’s List

Grace Deng, Hanford High School junior, has been named a 2022 FIRST Tech Challenge National Dean’s List Finalist! Grace is one of four students who will represent Washington State in the upcoming FIRST World Championship robotics competition held in Houston this April.

Dean's List students are recognized for their dedication and leadership. These students have also achieved personal technical expertise and accomplishment at the FIRST Tech Challenge.

Grace is a member of Hanford High’s FTC Team 8099, which earned the Judges Award at FIRST Tech Challenge WA State Competition in February. The Judge's Award is given to a team's unique efforts, performance, or dynamics, which merit a recognition. This is a team that fully embraces the spirit of FIRST. Team 8099 also placed 13th in the robot competition portion.

Team 8099 members include Bella McDermott, Emilie Cooper, Emily Sperry, Grace Deng, Abby Kerbyson, Augustin Dularoy, Klayton Vargas, Nikhita Bontha, Emmaline McKinnon, Grace Whitney, Harriet Dalton, Christina Lansing, and Viktoria Trevino.
